Every organization starts with an intention. Some call it purpose, others call it vision, and whatever the name, it defines why an organization exists and what it hopes to change.
Strategy, on the other hand, gives this intention a path. It translates words into direction, and direction into decisions. But even when strategy moves away from its original purpose, those strong ideas lose their direction and relevance, weakening in strength and meaning.
This lesson reconnects those dots. It brings together what learners explored in earlier courses like vision and mission, business models, and stakeholder understanding, and positions them within a broader question: how do our strategic choices create or erode value?
Also, before speaking about cost, benefit, or impact, we must look at how “value” itself is shaped. Every product, service, or initiative is born from a strategic choice. Each decision reflects what the organization believes to be valuable for others and for itself. Understanding that relationship is the first step toward making value-driven decisions.
